Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Delta State School of Health Technology: Public Health Nursing Course ENTRY REQUIREMENT Prospective candidates must posses five credits at not more than two sittings in: WASC, SSCE, GCE ‘O’ Level or NECO examinations. These subjects must include: English language, any of the science subjets and any other three relevant subjects. Candidates should in addition be posses the professional qualification of Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Midwife (RM), with at least two years post qualification. Higher National Diploma in Public Health Nursing Duration – 2 years OBJECTIVES At the end of this programme, the students should be able to: Know the health need and provide appropriate health care in the community, Apply the nursing process in providing comprehensive health to individuals’ facilities and groups in the community health education activity. Organize community health education activities. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS The minimum entry requirements in the Higher National Diploma in public health nursing are: W.A.S.C.E/G.C.E./S.S.C.E: 5 credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology and two (2) science subjects. National Diploma or equivalent in Nursing Nigerian Registered Nursing (NRN) certificate Nigerian Registered Midwife Certificate or Psychiatric Nursing certificate plus one year post qualification experience. Male Nurses should have additional certificate of the Nursing Certificate. METHOD OF APPLICATION Candidates are to obtain scratch cards from Eco Bank on payment of a non refundable fee of N5,250 only Log on to the school website: www.delsotecheportal.com to register online. Candidates are expected to print out an acknowledgement/identification card to be presented on the day of the entrance examination.
