KENYA: Student got drowned in Indian Ocean
Kilifi, Kenya: A swimming expedition for three students from Pwani University on Sunday turned tragic after one of them drowned.
The Bachelor of Commerce second year student at the university identified as Kenneth Munene drowned at Kilifi creek of the Indian Ocean. His body has not been retrieved.
Fellow students from the university said Munene left the institution with two other male students who later went swimming at the Kilifi creek waters.
It was said Munene was the first to dive into the waters, but to the surprise of his colleagues he never surfaced.
The colleagues are said to have waited for him to surface but after taking too long, they suspected he might have drowned.
Reports were made to the police and the public before the search for his body started, but since then it has not been recovered.
